In the spring of 2001, Shaun Ruymen decided to bring his guitar to work and, in doing so, began the series of friendships that would lead to the formation of his first band. Flash forward to early 2004 - Ruymen and the members of the band, known then as Pumastrut, had parted ways for a short time. Soon after, he joined Paul Schober and Jason Liberatore, friends and bandmates from his Pumastrut days, and bassist Dan Miller(Dan-O) in a new project - Almost Green.
